President Ahmadinejad’s Count Down to War?

borderIf only the Iranian President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, was obliged to give the Iranian parliament an annual ’state of the union’ address. That would certainly help us build a better understanding of what the hell he’s thinking. Unfortunately the current sources of information are somewhat skewed; the Western press or Israeli news sources. Not necessarily the most objective!

I’m a huge fan of visual ‘mindmap’ note taking. When trying to understand something with way too many angles, from too many data sources, with too many agendas - sometimes the visual map of phrases, sources, and conclusions can scare the dickens out of you!

Ahmadinejad mind-map bullet points:

- Holocaust denier (link)
- US/Israel “soon to be destroyed” (link)
- “one bomb” will destroy Israel (link) (link) (link)
- North Koreans assisting Iran’s nuclear program (link)
- Israel very quiet recently
- Israel political will and military resources to attack Iran unilaterally?
- 2nd U.S. carrier group en route Persian Gulf (link)
- U.S. defend Iraq’s Iran / Syrian borders in response?
- 2009 term limit, Parliament shortened Ahmadinejad’s term? (link)
- ‘Hojjatieh’ ultra-conservative Shia believer of the 12th Imam/Mahdi (link) (link)
- Ahmadinejad wants his administration to ‘pave way for 12th Imam’s return
- His administration politically weaker; forcing his hand? (link) (link)
- Inflation, unemployment, building opposition to his policies (link) (link)
- Ahmadinejad even scares Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei
- Ayathollah’s recent overtures (”goodwill”) to U.S. via Saudi King (link)
- Sec. of State - Condi Rice - making trip to Riyadh next week (link)

In a nutshell, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, a rabid believer of Shi’ite Muslims’ “hidden” 12th Imam, seeks to “pave the way for his return” by eradicating the Jews (Israel) with a soon-to-be-built nuclear bomb built with the assistance of fellow evil-doers North Korea.

Ahmadinejad believes the U.S. is too weak to intervene and the Iranian people will applaud Mahmoud’s actions sometime during his quickly shortening political term in office. Meanwhile his political opponents grow stronger, the Iranian people grow increasingly weary and the Grand Ayathollah increasingly nervous of Mahmoud’s nervous twitch and Hilter-complex.

Sensing something in the air, the Grand Ayatollah is making face-saving peace overtures to the U.S. via Saudi King Abdullah, whom seeks to mediate with U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice next week during her two day trip to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. These peace overtures are not, of course, reported anywhere in the western media, for reasons that cannot easily be explained without sounding silly.

The Bush Administration seemingly hell-bent on expanding the Iraq war into neighboring countries has already turned away peace overtures previously reported and is compounding pressure on Iran by sending a second aircraft carrier group into the Persian Gulf - off the coast of Iran as a gesture of friendship and warmth.

Israel, which any poker play knows does not like to bluff, seems strangely quiet in recent days or weeks and rumors of a unilateral first strike on Iranian nuclear facilities seem plausible as new reports confirm it possesses the military might and political will to smack Iran for a plethora of reasons ranging from its support of Hezbollah terrorists in the Lebanon, frequent calls for Israel’s destruction and Mahmoud’s recent blog posts making fun of Israeli President Moshe Katsav’s choice of women.

Did I miss anything? So like the wonderful FOX TV’s 24 - the clock is ticking and it appears President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is crazy enough to make the next move! “Damn it!

    Poetic badger:

Ahmadinejahd is a paper tiger, his popularity in Iran is on par with Bush and he will be gone even sooner.

Very few people in Iran want war or believe in the hyperbole that he is using get attention.

My call…he’s gone by June, never to be heard of again.

Ahmadinejahd, beware the Ides of March.

Mullahs prefer living to mass Iranian deaths, especially their own deaths.
